Prior to The Orchard, Katie worked for IODA and Naxos of America. Katie Ferguson is Senior Manager of Client Relations & Classical Repertoire at The Orchard. Paul has been with Piranha Arts since 2009 and in 2014 took over the position of director of communications. Working for the House of World Cultures in Berlin and as a music journalist for radio and print, he specialised in classical and global music traditions. Paul Bräuer studied musicology, sinology and journalism in Berlin and Shanghai. Improving the quality and the use of metadata – descriptive information and facts about classical and contemporary music tracks and streams – is a key to making this music more accessible both in the sense of enabling users to find what they are looking for and to enable the entire chain of “music providers” to reach out to a large (potential) audience.īeing born out of a quick online survey amongst the Classical:NEXT community this interactive session invites all stakeholders to stop complaining and start addressing this issue together.
